    Forklift training at customer premises

Onsite forklift training lets your operators learn in the place they actually work. Direct Training comes to your London warehouse, yard, distribution centre or business site, using suitable equipment already available at your premises.

Whether you need to train two new starters or organise a programme for 100 operators across different shifts, we plan delivery around your people, truck categories and site. Larger teams are split into suitable training groups over agreed dates, not placed into one oversized session.

    • Train on the trucks and loads your team uses
    • Keep training relevant to your aisles, yard and workplace risks
    • Reduce travel to an external training centre
    • Plan novice, experienced and refresher groups separately

Tell us your site postcode — we’ll discuss your trucks and team size.

A training plan that fits your operation

    1 day

    Refresher training

For previously trained operators who need to refresh their knowledge and safe operating skills.

    2 days

    Experienced operator training

For operators with practical experience who need structured training and assessment.

    3 days

    Novice operator training

For new operators building their knowledge, practical skills and safe working habits.

Durations are per training group. Your full delivery schedule depends on team size, equipment categories and the groups required.

    What your site needs

Suitable maintained trucks, a safe practical training area, representative loads and a quiet theory space. Before booking, we discuss your layout, access arrangements and equipment so training can take place safely without assuming every site is suitable.

From two operators to a corporate programme

Share your site postcode, the number of operators, their experience and the trucks they use. We then agree appropriate groups and dates. For larger workforces, phased delivery lets you plan training alongside staffing and operational requirements.

Onsite forklift training for London businesses

    Warehouse and distribution centre training

A warehouse team may use several truck categories in one working day. Our Counterbalance Training covers load handling and stacking, while Reach Truck Training focuses on racking and positioning loads. For pallet movement and order picking, ask about PPT, Stacker and LLOP training at your premises.

Tell us which trucks each operator uses rather than treating every forklift as the same machine. We can discuss the relevant courses, separate novice and experienced groups, and plan training around your equipment and available practical space.

A delivery plan built around your site

From a small business training two operators to a corporate programme for 100, onsite forklift training starts with your workplace requirements. Your site postcode, truck types, operator experience and team size help us discuss a suitable schedule and prepare a tailored quote.

Direct Training has trained staff for Thames Water, BBC, Amazon, Tesco, ITV, Heathrow Airport and British Airways. We bring that business-training focus to customer premises across London, without assuming that every company has the same layout, loads or staffing needs.

    Onsite forklift training FAQs

    What is onsite forklift training?

Onsite forklift training is operator training delivered at your customer premises rather than at a training centre. Direct Training brings an instructor to your business so operators can learn using your own forklift equipment, loads and working environment.

How many operators can you train at our premises?

We can arrange onsite forklift training programmes for 2 to 100 operators. Large teams are scheduled across appropriate small training groups, instructors and dates; 100 operators are not trained in a single practical session. We agree the delivery plan around truck types and operator experience.

Which forklift courses can be delivered onsite?

All forklift training courses offered by Direct Training can be arranged at suitable customer premises: Counterbalance, Reach Truck, PPT, Stacker, LLOP, Pivot Steer, Sideloader, Combilift, Moffett and Telescopic Handler. Equipment, site suitability and any category-specific assessment requirements are confirmed before booking.

How long does onsite forklift training take?

Refresher training takes 1 day, experienced operator training takes 2 days, and novice operator training takes 3 days. These are course durations for each training group; the overall programme for a larger workforce depends on group numbers, equipment and scheduling.

What do we need to provide for onsite forklift training?

Your business needs suitable, maintained equipment for the category being taught, an adequately sized safe practical training area, representative loads and a suitable space for theory learning. Tell us about your premises and machinery first so we can confirm suitability and explain the arrangements required.

Where in London do you provide onsite forklift training?

We provide onsite forklift training across our London service areas, including Barking and Dagenham, Ilford, Stratford, Romford, Croydon, Enfield, Ealing, Hounslow, Hillingdon, Harrow, Newham, Redbridge, Southwark and the other London locations listed on this page.

Can you train both small businesses and corporate teams?

Yes. Direct Training provides forklift training at customer premises for small businesses and large corporate clients. We have trained staff for Thames Water, BBC, Amazon, Tesco, ITV, Heathrow Airport and British Airways. Programmes can be planned for teams of 2 to 100 operators.

How much does onsite forklift training cost?

Your quote depends on the number of operators, their experience, truck categories, location and the delivery schedule. Request a free brochure or call 0203 929 0792 with your site postcode, truck types and team size so we can discuss your requirements and provide a tailored quote.

Does completing training mean an operator can immediately drive at work?

Operators must successfully complete the course requirements. Employers also need to arrange appropriate job-specific and familiarisation training, confirm competence and authorise operators for their workplace. Training does not replace an employer's responsibility to manage safe equipment use.
